Services rendered included project development, design, savings guarantee, construction, and measurement of savings. Installed ECMs included installing low flow sink aerators in the bathroom and kitchen areas, supplementing the existing natural gas boiler with pre-heated water from Zero Energy, energy-efficient lighting, re-design of HVAC systems for Gym and Locker Room Areas, replacement of all other existing HVAC systems, installation of HVAC controls with centralized WiFi accessibility, and upgrading the existing Locker Room ventilation with high efficiency motors and variable speed controls.
“I highly recommend Andrew Overmyer and the entire Wind, Water, Energy team. They have been very professional during the energy conversion project at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic High School. They have been extremely responsive to our facility’s needs and we have been kept up-to-date and informed throughout the entire process. Communication and professionalism have been their standard and we are very pleased with their services.” Camille Jowanna, BMCHS Principal

Project 2 – Science Building HVAC
Evaluation and Replacement
Customer Contact Information:
Richard Kolhoff, Director of Construction for RCDST
Total Contract Cost:
Project Cost: $48,200
Type of Contract:
Building Analysis and Construction Agreement
Scope of Services:
WWEC performed an evaluation on the existing 30-Ton HVAC Rooftop HVAC Unit (RTU) for the Science Building at SPCHS. Work included an evaluation of existing building loads, building air infiltration test, fresh air / ventilation requirements, equipment sizing, energy efficient alternatives, and HVAC equipment selection. WWEC’S evaluation revealed existing system was oversized and did not provide adequate fresh air as per current Florida Mechanical Codes. The “rightsizing” of the existing HVAC system allowed SPCHS to upgrade to Carrier 25-Ton Rooftop system with 2-Stage Cooling, motorized CO2 demand ventilation damper (to provided adequate fresh air), a “Humid-MiZer” adaptive dehumidification system for outside air, and an “E-Coated” corrosion protection for the condensing coils. The upgraded energy efficient and sustainable features were included on the “rightsized” 25-Ton RTU at a comparable price of the 30-Ton alternatives./p>
